About
Lisa Pitsch

Lisa’s passion for horses began at a young age. At six, her parents took her on occasional trail rides, and by twelve, she joined an Equestrian Vaulting team. She loved expressing herself through dance, music, and movement, and her talent was soon recognized with the Region III National Women at the Trot title.

In high school, Lisa developed an interest in dressage and jumping. She participated in several lesson programs, enjoying the challenge of riding different horses with unique personalities. During her college years, Lisa participated in several teams, including the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and the university Polo team. Outside of school clubs, Lisa started training and showing in Eventing at a local barn. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2022 with a Bachelor’s in Equine Science and Psychology, and a minor in Business Administration.

Lisa adopted her first horse, Confetti, from the Right Horse Initiative while taking an equine rehabilitation and behavior class at CSU. After successfully re-starting Confetti, Lisa found a new interest in training and starting horses. A local organization, Wild Rose Mustang Advocacy, inspired her love for wild horses. She adopted a young mustang named Pandora, who proved to be an amazing eventing pony. Lisa and Pandora currently compete in Novice Eventing but also enjoy other disciplines such as working equitation, barrels, and cows.

In 2021, while still in school, Lisa became a PATH International therapeutic riding instructor. After graduation, she worked at the Temple Grandin Equine Center and Hearts and Horses Therapeutic Riding Center, teaching horseback riding to individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, and veterans. Shortly after, Lisa completed a second certification to become an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning through PATH International. She enjoys incorporating social-emotional learning and life skills into her lessons and is passionate about helping others through horsemanship.
Lisa is currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work, expecting to graduate in the fall of 2025. Outside of school and horses, Lisa enjoys hiking, biking, gardening, and reading.

Lisa currently lives in Junction City, Oregon, with her partner Conner, a veterinarian at Del Oeste Equine Hospital. They live on a seven-acre farm with their five hens, four horses, two cats, and their dog, Willow. Together, they look forward to meeting you and supporting your journey with horses!
